Europe Direct Antiques Warehouse was established 10 years ago and since then we have grown our inventory and staff.  Not many people are aware of the behind the scenes work our employees perform by purchasing, shipping, servicing and selling our products around the country.  Instead, they are familiar with our very visible CCO (the past and present).  So, our goal is to make sure the CCO is well fed and is driven to work on-time every day.

Sophie had been with our company about five years and was promoted after her second full year to Chief Canine Officer.  She developed well into her role as warehouse greeter. 

Unfortunately, Sophie unexpectedly became very ill and was forced to retire two weeks before her seventh birthday.

Sophie's background included three years of apprenticeship training under Chapin.  She graduated with honors.

The original architect of our greeting standards and responsible for training all of our staff on the proper methods.  His technique will always be revered as he knew just when to approach and just when to back off.  

His service with the company lasted about eight years and upon retirement we bestowed the emeritus title.  The only time he seemed a bit out of sorts was when he lost his longtime friend and advisor Winston. Customer focused and much loved as "biggy."

Executive Advisor

Long time companion and most trusted advisor to Chapin.  Winston was our ever present "behind the scenes" executive and believed in business before pleasure. 

Served the company a total of seven years before retirement.

Leader Dogs for the Blind

  • We have had direct experience with Leader Dogs for the Blind.  In the early 70's, our family gave our "wild" Yellow Lab puppy to Leader Dogs because she was uncontrollable around five kids.  To all of our surprise, Molly was accepted, trained and placed with a blind woman as her seeing eye dog.  We'll never forget the letter she wrote to us thanking us for Molly and including a picture of her with Molly.
  • We have a couple of puppy Leader Dog Trainees come in for a visit with our CCO and our customers.  They are welcome at any time.
